I would like to suggest a small adjustment to ensure that participants with medical conditions, such as diabetes, can safely participate without fear of being accused of cheating.
For diabetics using devices like the Libre sensor, it is sometimes necessary to check blood sugar during a quiz. Since the sensor requires a phone or other device, this could be misinterpreted as using a mobile phone for quiz answers.
To address this, I propose a simple medical register or notification system:
Participants with medical devices could sign in or notify the organisers in advance.
The register would allow the organisers to recognise legitimate use of phones or devices for health purposes only.
This ensures that participants can monitor blood sugar safely without disrupting the quiz or being suspected of cheating.
I believe this is a small and practical adjustment that protects the health and safety of participants while maintaining the integrity of the quiz.
