Meet the Speaker - Rob Smedley

Rob Smedley has 30 years of experience in the world of F1, having spent time at multiple F1 teams including Jordan, Ferrari and Williams before assuming the Director of Data Systems role at Formula 1 from 2019 to 2021 where he developed and deployed the data strategy for the sport. He now works with some of the world’s leading technology brands helping them deliver technical data solutions including the deployment of AI and ML. Rob concurrently runs his own advanced technology and motorsport business, which focuses on using advanced technology and analytics to solve challenges.

Rob was awarded an honorary Doctor of Professional Studies from Teesside University in 2009 in recognition of services to motor sport and technology.
